Flying a float plane

Taking off from and landing on water was a new experience for Loren and Ryan.  Loren was allowed to be co-pilot and received a flying lesson in the Cessna 206 too!

Have you ever wished you caught a SMALLER fish?

The Minnesota DNR has a 17-26” protected slot for walleye.  This means that you cannot be in possession of a walleye within the "slot".  At 18"+, this fish went back.

Of course you can keep the 29" monster fish, however, our guide indicated that the older fish tend to have higher levels of mercury and shouldn't be eaten.  Back it went too.

Waiting for the little birds

Sharp-shinned Hawk or Coopers Hawk?  According to it's size, this could be a large female Sharpie or a small male Coopers.  The squared off tail has people smarter than me leaning toward a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
